My art journey began in childhood. I've always been artistic, curious and in love with nature. Growing up in a military family, our lifestyle involved uprooting and moving every 2 or 3 years. This gave me an ability to see beauty and joy wherever I happened to land. My work hopefully reflects the simple beauty and grace in God's creation. Using vibrant colors, thick and thin paints, inks, natural materials, found objects and imagination, my intention for my art is to bring light; to invoke feelings of peace, joy or delight to those who experience my work.

I love working with different mediums and materials. Currently I am mainly using acrylics and watercolors. I enjoy working with these two contradicting mediums because they each have such brilliant qualities. When I work with acrylics, I like to use thick paint and a pallet knife to create textures. Watercolors allow me to play with fluidity and the translucency of the pigments.

Like the paint I use, I too am fluid and textured, so, depending on what moves me at the time, I'll create with all sorts of materials, surfaces and mediums including charcoal, pens, pastels, inks, driftwood, bark, textiles, macramé, pine cones, stones, textiles, paper, botanicals… whatever there is that sparks my interest.

I love taking a discarded object and giving it new life by turning it into art. My family and friends are always bringing me objects to paint on & create with. I've painted on fences, palm pods, stones, pieces of slate, foam, cardboard, wood panels, glass, fabric, walls, you name it. This passion is what inspired my Renewed Collection - Art created using repurposed materials.

We have been created by a Master Artist, so I believe it is within us to naturally want to create. Everyone is an artist in some fashion. Whether you create music, build things, cook delicious meals, create websites, draw, dance, teach, write, tell great stories, act, whatever you do, is some form of creativity. The key is to do it with joy.
